Published Ontario prices for an installed backyard putting green run $20–$35 per sq ft. A green costs more per square foot than a lawn because the base is shaped for breaks, the turf is a dense short-pile golf turf, and the cups and sleeves are set by hand.

Size matters most. One Toronto installer publishes $30–$35 per sq ft under 400 sq ft, $25–$30 per sq ft from 400 to 2,000 sq ft, and $20–$25 per sq ft above that.

A 300 sq ft green at the under-400 sq ft rate works out to about $9,000–$10,500, before HST and any fringe. Chipping areas, sand traps and lighting add more.
